Panel Discussion of "Magnus" at Marshall CC

The Tribeca Film Festival is about to begin and will feature a documentary covering the life of world champion Magnus Carlsen.

At age 13, a shy Norwegian boy made a decision: one day he would become the world chess champion. The documentary Magnus is the personal journey of Magnus Carlsen — now 25 years old — who is known as “the Mozart of Chess.”

Shot over a decade, the film takes you inside the mind of a modern genius, from boyhood to the culmination of his quest for the game’s highest honor.   From an awkward childhood to international renown, Magnus tells a coming of age story that is bound to engage non-chess players, as well as the millions of people who play chess around the world.

Tonight, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, the film's producer Macauley Peterson and director Ben Ree will be at the Marshall Chess Club to host an informal discussion about the film.  They may be joined by Magnus' father Henrik Carlsen.

We hope you can make it on such short notice!
